Weddington Strings (aka The Weddies) have been playing together in different combinations for over 20 years. In 2022, the ensemble was formally established under the artistic direction of cellist and Creative Director, Victoria Walker.
The ensemble performs as quartets and trios across concerts, weddings, and live events, with repertoire spanning classical music, film and television, jazz, theatre, and contemporary arrangements.
Weddington Strings are Fever Candlelight Concert artists for Kent, with performances in Rochester Corn Exchange receiving rave reviews, and opening the All Saints Old Chapel venue series in Eastbourne. Candlelight Concerts now form a central part of the ensemble’s work, presenting immersive programmes in some of the region’s most atmospheric spaces.
Alongside their concert work, Weddington Strings perform regularly at leading venues across Kent and are exclusive suppliers for Preston Court, Wilderness Weddings, Chapel House Estate, Hempstead House and Lympne Castle.
Recent highlights include a Bridgerton-inspired High Tea concert series at Hempstead House and performing for the opening of Chapel House Estate’s Glasshouse in 2025.

INTERNATIONAL STANDING
Weddington Strings’ players are among the UK’s leading professional musicians, performing throughout the UK and internationally.
All members trained at world-leading conservatoires, including the Royal College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, Royal Northern College of Music, and Trinity College of Music.
Collectively, the ensemble’s musicians work across orchestral, theatrical, commercial, and recording projects, with credits including the BBC orchestras, London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia, Royal Opera House, and major West End productions such as Les Miserables, Guys & Dolls, Sound of Music and Phantom of the Opera.
Their recording and performance work spans award-winning film and television scores — including Downton Abbey and Call the Midwife — alongside collaborations with leading artists from across the classical and contemporary music worlds.
Members of Weddington Strings have also performed at landmark events and venues including Buckingham Palace, the BBC Proms, Glastonbury Festival, and Royal Ascot, and most recently appeared on Channel 4’s A Very British Country House.
